Hansi Flick tipped to reject Barcelona and Juventus, coach Germany
The manager is wanted by big clubs but he reportedly won’t change his plans
FC Barcelona, Juventus, and other top clubs are said to be in for former Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick. But the German is expected to turn down those approaches and instead commit to coaching the national team of his home country.
Flick, whose given name is Hans-Dieter Flick, was previously an assistant for Joachim Löw at Germany. He helped Die Mannschaft win the 2014 FIFA World Cup. After that, he joined Bayern Munich as an assistant to Niko Kovač. He was then promoted to interim coach after Kovač left by mutual consent in the middle of the season. Flick was eventually given the job on a permanent basis and won the treble last season.
He decided to leave at the end of this season following a reported power struggle with sporting director Hasan SalihamidĹľić. Flick was then widely reported to have accepted Löw’s former post as Germany’s manager.
The press reported that Barcelona president Joan Laporta is a big fan of Flick’s and wanted to tempt him to join the Catalans instead.
However, this seems unlikely to come to fruition as the latest reports say the German manager has not changed his plans and wants to start coaching his home country as soon as possible.
