Ansu Fati expected to return sometime this month
The young forward is finally nearing his return from injury
Ansu Fati’s recovery is finally progressing quickly, after a long layoff due to injury. The young forward could not play even after multiple surgeries, each extending his time out longer and longer. But he has finally taken part in a training session at FC Barcelona and is nearing his reappearance in an official match.
It’s understood that he will not take part in the match against Granada, but he could feature against either Cádiz or Levante the following week.
There is, finally, a lot of optimism surrounding the Catalans’ new #10. His recovery has been “perfect” in the last week and, apart from lacking muscle tone, his problems in his knee have “disappeared,” according to local media.
The team does not want to risk him, so it’s seen as essentially impossible for him to feature this weekend. But there is a chance, if things continue to go well, that he will play one or more of the remaining four matches before the international break: against Cádiz on Thursday the 23rd, versus Levante on the 26th, against Benfica in the UEFA Champions League on the 29th, or even against Atlético Madrid on October 2nd.
With the departures of Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann, plus the injuries to Sergio Agüero, Martin Braithwaite, and Ousmane Dembélé, Barcelona are very thin in the forward department. They are hoping Fati can hit the ground running soon.
