Upcoming audit will reveal “science fiction” economic actions taken by Bartomeu, per club VP
Barcelona’s new economic VP has promised to reveal incredible anomalies
FC Barcelona’s economic vice president, Eduard Romeu, has promised some eye-popping revelations at an upcoming audit.
Speaking to Catalan radio, Romeu said “there are some things found in the audit that are straight out of science fiction, that explain how to destroy a club in just a few years.”
The audit is scheduled to be unveiled October 6th.
Romeu is part of Joan Laporta’s administration that came in after Josep Maria Bartomeu led the club to economic chaos.
In addition, Romeu accused La Liga of essentially trying to force Barcelona to sign the CVC investment deal by promising they could keep Lionel Messi if they did.
He said Laporta met with Tebas, and Tebas told them everything would be resolved if the signed on to the agreement with CVC. But he says that La Liga did not send the documents for them to sign quickly. According to Romeu, the documents finally arrived, but late at night. Then, Tebas asked for a quick reply, but Barcelona refused to sign on, saying the terms were not acceptable.
“It was unfeasible to sign the deal with CVC, this is important for the members and the fans to know. They said they would let us register Messi in exchange for us accepting the deal,” he said.
