Barcelona confirm Inigo Martinez injury after Atletico win
The defender has been ruled out
Barcelona have confirmed that centre-back Inigo Martinez has been ruled out of action after picking up a hamstring injury on Sunday.
Martinez was named in the starting XI for the match against Atletico but pulled out after suffering a problem in the warm-up. Andreas Christensen took his place instead.
Barcelona have now issued an update on the former Athletic man.
“Tests carried out have revealed that Íñigo Martínez has a right hamstring injury. He is out and his recovery will determine his availability.” read a statement.

It’s being reported that Martinez will miss around a month which means we may not see him in action again until 2024.
The Spain international’s loss will be a blow, although Barcelona are well stocked when it comes to top quality center-backs.
Xavi has Andreas Christensen, Jules Kounde and Ronald Araujo all available. There are also a host of promising defenders at Barca Atletic such as Pau Cubarsi, Mikayil Faye and Mamadou Fall.
