First contact with the Bosuilstadion in Antwerp as FC Barcelona took to the pitch for training with a predominantly red backdrop from the seats in a ground waiting for the final Champions League group stage game for Xavi's side.

Araujo, Lewandowski and Gündogan join squad - FC Barcelona
Last minute news with regards to the FC Barcelona squad Wednesday's game away from home in the Champions League against Antwerp. With a change to the itinerary, (the squad will stay the night in Belgium and return on Thursday morning) it has been decided to include all the available first team players with Araujo, Lewandowski and Gündogan added to the squad to make a final list of 24 players. Frenkie de Jong misses out due to a fever.

The blaugranes clearly want to win again, as coach Xavi Hernández indicated during the prematch press conference from Royal Antwerp's ground. ”We want to end the group stage having done what we need to do” stated the blaugranes' coach.

On Wednesday FC Barcelona complete their group stage fixtures in the Champions League with an away trip to Royal Antwerp in Belgium. Xavi Hernández's team go into the match with their place in the last 16 of the competition already secured and they know that if they can avoid defeat then they will top the group as well.

Going into the final set of games in the Champions League, Barça still have a game to play against Royal Antwerp. Theoretically, the Catalans could still end up second in the group, although it would take a highly improbable pairing of outcomes for that to happen. Assuming Barça do go on to top the group, they would face one of the runners-up from the other seven groups in the round of 16. And here's a peek at who those teams could be.

FC Barcelona now know their rivals in the last 32 of the Copa del Rey. FC Barcelona will take on UD Barbastro in a single leg tie that will be played away from home on Sunday 7 January at 9pm CET in what will be the team's second game of 2024 after the La Liga clash away at Las Palmas on Thursday 4 January.
