The Mexican will complete his move to England this weekend

The first reports of Barcelona’s talks with Premier League side AFC Bournemouth for the sale of right-back Julian Araujo came out on Thursday, and the two clubs have quickly moved to find a complete agreement on the deal.

That’s according to multiple reports, the first from Diario SPORT’s Toni Juanmartí who says the two clubs have reached full agreement on a €10 million deal and that Araujo is no longer training under Hansi Flick in order to complete the move.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed Juanmartí’s report saying the formal announcements will come next week, while David Ornstein of The Athletic says Araujo will travel to England on Sunday to undergo a medical and sign a five-year contract with the Cherries.

Araujo’s sale should be made official within the next couple of days, and is one of the several sales Barça hope to make in the next few weeks to reduce the number of players in the squad, raise funds for their financial issues and clear salary cap space to fully operate within the 1:1 rule of La Liga’s Financial Fair Play regulations.
