A true great is hanging up his boots

Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta is set to officially announce his retirement from the beautiful game on Tuesday.

The midfielder has posted an emotional video on social media where he talks about what football means to him.

Former bosses Pep Guardiola, Louis van Gaal and Luis Enrique also feature and pay tribute to the Barca ace.

He’s expected to call it a day officially on the 8th - as it’s the iconic number he’s worn throughout his career.

Iniesta will go down as a true great of the game. He’s won everything possible, scoring the winning goal in the World Cup final and - perhaps most importantly of all - doing it with real style and grace.

The former Barca star has most recently played for UAE Pro League club Emirates but it looks as though - at the grand old age of 40 - the time has come for him to call it a day.

Iniesta has spoken previously of a desire to head into coaching, and there’s a chance we could well see him back at Barcelona at some point in the future.
