He will commit his future to the club

Fermin Lopez is set to sign a new contract at Barcelona which will keep him at the club until 2029.

Mundo Deportivo are reporting that the two parties have agreed an extension with just a few final details left to be resolved before it’s all signed off.

Barca are eager to secure Lopez’s future after seeing the forward star for club and country last season, winning Euro 2024 and Olympic gold.

Lopez has been injured at the start of the current season but is due back after the international break and his return will be warmly welcomed.

Hansi Flick is said to consider Lopez an “important player” with Barca eager to keep him at the club for the long term.

There were whispers of interest from Premier League clubs in Lopez over the summer but he’s already said publicly he’s only interested in staying at Barcelona.
