The coach is happy with the players he has in his squad

Barcelona’s long-running search for a new pivot appears to be over following the arrival of Hansi Flick as coach.

The Catalans have been linked with dozens of players, ever since Sergio Busquets left, but it appears the hunt is now over.

Diario Sport are reporting that Flick has decided that Barcelona don’t need a pivot because he’s happy with the options he has available.

Flick thinks that he has the position well covered at the moment, with Marc Bernal another option when he returns from his long-term knee injury.

The German boss has Marc Casado, Eric Garcia and Andreas Christensen for the position and will also have more midfield options shortly when Gavi, Frenkie de Jong and Fermin Lopez all return to full fitness.

The report adds that Deco had been thinking about Chelsea stars Romeo Lavia or Carney Chukwuemeka but Flick wants to stick with what he’s got.
