The striker’s been set an ambitious target

Robert Lewandowski is already into double figures for goals in La Liga this season and is being tipped to “easily” hit the 30-goal mark in the Spanish top flight before the end of the campaign.

Former Barcelona striker Meho Kodro thinks Lewandowski is still one of the best No. 9s in the world and will have a great season this year under Hansi Flick.

“Lewandowski is still definitely among the four or five best strikers in the world,” he told Polish outlet Goal.

“I have already told you that I am not worried about his age. In my opinion, we are seeing the best version of Lewandowski in two or three years.”

Kodro also spoke about Lewandowski’s stellar form at the start of the new campaign and explained why he thinks he’s in such great shape.

“Robert has always had quality, there is nothing to talk about here. However, he also looks very well prepared physically,” he added.

“He is very dynamic and with each goal he regains confidence and grows. In addition, he is surrounded by players in great form, such as Lamine Yamal and Raphinha, who can play well with him.

“And in general Barcelona as a whole are playing very well. It is clear that Lewandowski feels very good as the leader of the attack. If he continues like this, he could easily score 30 goals this season in La Liga.”

Thirty goal seems an ambitious target but Lewandowski is a third of the way there already after just nine games.
