The teenager will miss out on Saturday

Lamine Yamal will miss his second consecutive match with an ankle injury when Barcelona face Celta Vigo away from home on Saturday, and the Blaugrana will need to figure out how to win without their teenage superstar.

Barça’s seven-game winning streak came to an end two weeks ago against Real Sociedad without Yamal, and the very few poor moments for the Catalans this season have come when Lamine either missed out or didn’t start.

Hansi Flick was asked if Barça can win without Yamal, and the boss was confident the rest of the team is good enough to find a way to cope with the absence of the 17-year-old phenom.

“No, there is no fear of playing without Lamine. We didn’t play well against Real [Sociedad], but not for that reason. Lamine is very important, but there are [other] players and we have to adapt. We’ll see when he can return, the important thing is that he returns to 100%. Is it a challenge to win without Lamine? I’ll ask the team that question tomorrow... is it a challenge to win without Lamine?”

Celta are always a brutal opponent for Barça when they play at Balaídos, and being able to overcome that challenge without Yamal will be a good answer to the question of whether or not the Blaugrana can still be a great team even if their superstar is not playing.
