Ansu’s agent admits he ‘needs to play’ amid Barca struggles

Is his time at the club almost up?
Ansu Fati’s agent Jorge Mendes has admitted the forward “needs to play” as he continues to struggle for game time at Barcelona.
The youngster was hoping for another chance at the club this season under Hansi Flick but has gradually slipped out of contention and is now battling just to get into the coach’s matchday squads.
Mendes met with Barcelona on Tuesday to discuss a contract extension for Lamine Yamal and was quizzed by reporters afterwards.
The report insisted he had not discussed Fati’s situation with the club but knows Barca’s No. 10 can’t continue on the sidelines.
“We haven’t talked about Ansu Fati, but he’s a player who has shown his quality many times and who now needs to play,” he told reporters.
Fati’s unlikely to play much between now and the end of the season, making a summer exit surely the best option for both parties.
Recent speculation has claimed Barca are trying to find a Saudi club for Fati, but it’s not clear if he’s interested in a move to the Middle East at this point in his career.
