Marcus Rashford has fuelled speculation that his time at Barcelona is over with his latest social media activity amid reports that the Catalans will not pay the buy option in his contract.

Barcelona have just five days left to trigger the €30 million clause in his loan deal, but the club have decided against making the move, according to Marca.

The signing of Anthony Gordon, the finances involved and the fact that Rashford will turn 29 this year are all said to be factors in the club’s decision on the England international.

However, Fabrizio Romano says that might not be the end of Rashford’s story at Barcelona and that the Catalans “remain open to new solutions, like another loan deal.”

Meanwhile, Rashford has fuelled speculation that he won’t continue at Camp Nou by removing all mentions of Barcelona on his social media pages and switching to England themed photos on his profile pictures.

The forward has said publicly he wanted to say but has reportedly already resigned himself to returning to Manchester United for pre-season after World Cup 2026.

Having already signed Gordon, Barca’s focus remains signing a striker to replace Robert Lewandowski this summer.
