Alex Song set to join West Ham on three-year permanent deal

PRAISE THE LORD! He has finally found a new home.

After a few months of vacation and not knowing where to go, not actually a Barcelona midfielder Alex Song, who was back from his season loan but didn't find himself a place on Luis Enrique's squad, is set to join West Ham, the club he played for last campaign. However, this time it's a permanent, three-year contract.

That's according to the club's co-owner, David Sullivan:

"He’s a player we all admire and we just hope that the medical shows he’s in a sufficient state for us to gamble.

"He couldn’t physically pass a medical tomorrow, but if the medics say it’s just a technical thing and he’s only a couple of weeks away you’d take that gamble and hope they’re right.

"He’s still got two years left on his Barcelona contract and you’re signing a player on a three-year contract, so it’s a huge commitment. He’s a big earner, Alex.

"He’s injured at the moment, which is something you’ve got to weight up. But we’ve got until 1 September to make a decision."

As soon as he arrived in England, Song instantly became a fan favorite, and his first six months with the Hammers were simply fantastic, as he turned himself into the player Barça bought from Arsenal a few years ago. After Christmas, however, The Creator of Systeme Tchakap lost his form, never found it and ended his season on the bench, just like he did at the Camp Nou.

Song's deal with the London side is not yet official, since he's injured and unable to pass the medical tests. With two weeks left on the transfer window, however, he should be fit enough to be available and sign his contract.
