Flying high, FC Barcelona with hands full following UEFA awards gala

Barça delegation makes evening return from Monaco, where Club, team and players received continental honours

The FC Barcelona delegation that flew to Monaco to attend Thursday's UEFA gala returned to Barcelona the same evening steeped in satisfaction after having lived yet another historic day for the Club. During the ceremony, Barça were duly acknowledged for their five European Cups won throughout their history, while Lionel Messi received UEFA's award for Best Player in Europe. In his acceptance speech, Messi thanked his teammates for making the award possible.

Following the gala, held at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, the FC Barcelona delegation returned to Barcelona via private jet, where an atmosphere satisfaction at reigned supreme. Messi was photographed with his award alongside Luis Suárez and Andrés Iniesta, as well as Club president Josep Maria Bartomeu and the rest of the expedition. The delegation also included Jordi Mestre, sporting vice president; David Bellver, Institutionals relations with UEFA; Albert Soler, director of professional sports; Raul Sanllehí, director of football; and former players Carles Puyol and Andoni Zubizarreta.
