Claudio Bravo to miss three weks with injury, says agent

As we reported on Tuesday, Barcelona goalkeeper Claudio Bravo has a right calf injury that puts his immediate future in doubt. We didn't have an exact timetable for his absence, since the club didn't give any clues about his status or expected return. Now we know, thanks to Bravo's agent.

Cristian Ogalde talked to a Chilean radio about the situation of his client, and according to him, the Zamora Trophy winner will miss up to three weeks in order to fully recover from his problem.

"Claudio’s fine. I talked to him and he’s calm. It’s an injury that will take three weeks to recover to be 100%.

"He thinks he’ll feel better in a week but needs to recover 100% so that it doesn’t happen again in a few months. He’ll miss some League games but it’s best to recover well so there’s not a relapse.

"He should be fit [to play Brazil on October 8]. He’ll have trained at least a week with Barcelona by then."

That's certainly not good news, since Bravo was expected to play against Atlético Madrid at Vicente Calderón on Sunday. If that timetable is correct, Barça's league keeper will miss five domestic matches, which means Marc-André ter Stegen will make his La Liga debut and get a lot of playing time until the next international break.
