La Liga News: 25 September 2015: Benitez Cools Ronaldo Drought Talk, Simeone Defends Rotation Policy

Real Madrid coach Rafa Benitez says he hopes to have James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale back in action ahead of the crunch clash at Atletico Madrid on Oct. 4. Bale and James are currently sidelined with calf and thigh muscle issues respectively, while right-back Danilo is out with a knee problem.
"I stated my position months ago. We haven't spoken about the subject of independence, it is a sensitive matter and we will not touch upon it today during the Assembly," Tebas said. "I don't value a league without Barca. I don't think it will happen because Catalonia will continue to be part of Spain. The Catalonian clubs would not be able to play in La Liga per the Sports Law."
Benitez has stressed that Ronaldo remains a key figure for the Santiago Bernabeu side. "It is not like I expect Ronaldo to score a certain number of goals. We have not set a target for him. But I know he will score a lot of goals," Benitez said. "Ronaldo has a higher goal-to-games ratio than any other player. That is why he is a key figure for us."
Diego Simeone has insisted that rotation is the only way he can keep his Atletico Madrid squad competitive ahead of Villarreal in La Liga on Saturday. The Coach has yet to name an unchanged line-up in each of Los Colchoneros’ six matches this season, but he is adamant his players have reaped the rewards of his policy on the grounds that it has continually kept them on their toes.
When asked in a UEFA Champions League Q & A session who the best midfielder he has player with was, the 27-year-old said unequivocally: "Javier Mascherano. Because I think he is a player who feels the pulse of a game – he knows the moment when it's going well or badly. He is a reference point for what you need on the pitch."
An astonishing long-range shot from Fede Cartabia helped Deportivo La Coruna to a 2-1 win away at Real Betis. Cartabia unleashed a swerving, dipping strike from 35 yards to open the scoring in the 55th minute. Petros equalised just five minutes later for the hosts, but Faycal Fajr struck once more for the visitors in the 72nd minute to clinch the win.
