Barcelona remain in Copa del Rey after Levante’s Chumi complaint is dismissed
The holders are free to continue
Levante had their complaint over Barcelona fielding an ineligible line-up in their Copa del Rey last 16 first leg dismissed by the RFEF on Friday.
The complaint was made in regards to Barcelona B defender Chumi who started the game, but Levante complained he should have been suspended for the match.
However, Levante’s complaint has been dismissed as it arrived too late. Judge Carmen Pérez noted it was received “outside of the established deadline” and the result stands.

Ernesto Valverde spoke about the issue after Thursday’s second leg and said the club were “convinced” they had done nothing wrong and that Chumi was fine to play.
The decision means that Barcelona will take their place in the quarter-final draw to be made on Friday.
