De Ligt says most rumors about his future are wrong
The Ajax captain has been linked with a host of top clubs
Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt has been talking about the speculation over his future and reckons most of the rumors are completely false.
The centre-back has been linked with most of Europe’s top clubs throughout this season and is widely expected to leave Ajax this summer.
Barcelona have been rumored to be interested in the centre-back, as have Juventus, and De Ligt was asked if he’s “close” to signing a deal with the Italian champions.
“Throughout the year I’ve heard rumours and information about me, on this topic. You do understand that if I had to come out and deny every rumour, I’d never stop,” he said.
”All I can say is that all these rumours are making me laugh and the majority of what is written is wrong.”

Reports in Spain today reckon that De Ligt wants to follow Frenkie de Jong to Barcelona.
According to Mundo Deportivo, he’s willing to reject big-money offers from Juve and PSG to join Barcelona but wants to know there is a place for him in the team given the club now have six centre-backs.
