Zidane: La Liga is more important than the Champions League
The Real Madrid boss vowed to snatch the league away from Barcelona next season
Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has shown his respect towards Barcelona while also issuing a challenge against his rivals.
“For me, I repeat, the most important is La Liga, the most difficult.” Zidane said, “In the [UEFA Champions League] you have 12 games, in La Liga 38 weeks.”

“Barça have been doing well lately [winning Ligas], and you must congratulate them. In history Real Madrid have many more La Liga titles. Barça have been better lately, and next year we must change that,” Zidane added.
Barcelona are one step away from winning their 8th La Liga title in the past 11 seasons, but Real Madrid has won more Champions League trophies over the past few years.
Zidane said there were many reasons for Barcelona’s dominance in La Liga: “For La Liga you must focus right from pre-season. We want to start La Liga very well next year, if not, it’ll be difficult again. For me and for the players, La Liga must be the primary objective.”
