Barcelona want to pay for Neymar’s signing through Coutinho and Dembélé sales - report
The Catalans want to reverse the transactions that occurred in 2017
Barcelona bought Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembélé with Neymar’s sale. Now, they want to reverse it all. According to Diario SPORT, Barça want to buy Neymar with the money they earn from the sales of their two current players, making their total expenditure near zero.
Back in 2017, Barcelona bought Coutinho and Dembélé partly with money given to them by Paris Saint-Germain when paying Neymar’s release clause. Now, Barça are reversing course, according to the report.
The Catalans’ strategy is said to be that of patience. In general, rumors suggest that Barça are watching the Neymar-PSG spat and looking for the Parisian club to lower their demands for the Brazilian.
In particular, we shall see whether Neymar remains a “rebel” in the eyes of PSG by not showing up for training. That could start to make PSG more willing to sell him off and be done with the drama, or perhaps find some sort of agreement to keep him at the club.
