PSG want Samuel Umtiti as part of Neymar deal - report
Barcelona will have to offer a player in return if they try to sign Neymar
Despite reports that Philippe Coutinho or Ousmane Dembélé will be offered as part of the Neymar deal, Paris Saint-Germain’s preferred player to obtain is actually Samuel Umtiti, Mundo Deportivo reports.
Umtiti spent most of last season on the sidelines due to injury, but he says he feels good now and ready to contribute again. Clément Lenglet took his place in the starting lineup for most of the previous term.
Prior to that, Umtiti had been a key piece of Barcelona and won the FIFA World Cup with France.
PSG have been linked with defenders such as Kalidou Koulibaly, Raphaël Varane and Matthijs de Ligt this summer, so the need to strengthen the defense is there.
Barça reportedly value Umtiti at 60 million euro. However, it is said the Catalans do not want to let him leave, especially with only three other central defenders in the squad. Still, the report says Umtiti is not “untouchable,” so his exit remains a possibility.
