The director says the Brazilian is a ‘special case’

Barcelona director Javier Bordas says the club “will do what we can” to sign Neymar despite missing out on the Brazilian in the summer transfer window.

Neymar’s future dominated the headlines throughout the summer transfer window but Barcelona and PSG could not agree a deal for the 27-year-old.

Club president Josep Maria Bartomeu has since said Neymar is not in the club’s plans for January, but Bordas’ latest comments suggest he is still very much a transfer target.

“As long as he wants to come, we will do what we can to come,” he said.

“The case of Neymar is a special case. He is an exceptional player and he wants to come to Barça.

“He has not adapted to Paris, he was wrong to go there, he has said it himself.”

Meanwhile, Sport are reporting that Neymar’s dad has said negotiations “have not ended” between Barcelona and PSG, and this transfer saga looks far from done despite the window now being closed.
