The Brazilian superstar would have been very happy back at the Camp Nou, his dad says

Neymar, Sr., the father of Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar, Jr., has said his son would have been very happy at Barcelona, after a summer transfer window in which the Catalans tried but ultimately failed to get him back.

It was reported that speaking at the Edinburgh Sports Conference, Neymar, Sr., said that “a Brazilian wants nothing more than to be happy, and he was very happy in Barcelona.”

Alluding to rumors that Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez wanted Neymar’s return, the father said, “when his friends asked for him to come back, he was touched.”

The player’s father, who also works as his representative, said that even though he and Neymar’s agents tried their best, the move wasn’t to be. The biggest problem was a lack of a release clause. Somewhat ironically, it was Neymar’s release clause in his Barcelona contract that allowed him to leave for Paris for 222 million euros in the first place.
