Kai Havertz prefers Barcelona to Real Madrid - report
The young German star has many of the biggest clubs in the world on alert
Kai Havertz has a “free choice” on who to join next year, according to Sport Bild. The 20-year-old Bayer Leverkusen playmaker has the eyes of seven of Europe’s biggest clubs, it is rumored. Bayern Munich, FC Barcelona, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Real Madrid are all in for Germany’s newest star.
However, the two teams best positioned to land him, according to the report, are Bayern Munich and Barcelona. Bayern tend to gobble up Bundesliga talent, so that is no surprise. In addition, the possible appointment of Mauricio Pochettino as Bayern coach could help them land Havertz, as the report says he appreciates the Argentine coach’s style.
However, Barcelona is “the dream club of his youth,” and that could be a big advantage for the Catalans. Another thing is whether they would consider signing Pochettino as manager, as well.
Despite the fact that those two clubs are considered the favorites to get him, the fact of the matter is that Havertz could still go to any of the big clubs mentioned.
