He’s ineligible to play but will make the trip to Italy

New Barcelona signing Martin Braithwaite will travel with the squad to Napoli for Tuesday’s Champions League match despite being ineligible for the tie.

The Denmark international has been included in Quique Setien’s travelling squad for the match with the team due to fly to Italy on Monday morning.

Braithwaite only arrived at Barcelona on Thursday as an emergency signing from Leganes after the Catalan giants paid his €18 million release clause.

The 28-year-old made his debut on Saturday in the 5-0 win over Eibar. He came off the bench and helped set up goals for Lionel Messi and Arthur.

Braithwaite will now get to spend some more time with his new team-mates over the next couple of days in what is a busy week for the club.

Barca have announced they will train on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday after the game in Napoli as they turn their attentions to Sunday’s Clasico.
