The full-back wants to show what he can do

Barcelona left-back Junior Firpo says the club have not seen the best of him just yet and has vowed to prove himself when the Spanish champions return to action.

The 23-year-old has attracted criticism in his first season at Barcelona after signing from Real Betis in August 2019 for €18m plus €12m in variables.

There have even been rumors Barcelona could look to offload Junior in the summer, but the youngster says he’s still adapting and wants to show what he can do.

“I have come to a new club, a new city and a big club,” he said.

“I am in the adaptation period so that then everything goes better.

“I want to play again and be able to show the player that I am, which I think has not been seen.”

Junior also spoke about his strong relationship with Quique Setien and how the manager was the “first elite coach” to really trust him when he promoted the full-back to the first team at Betis.
