Lautaro tipped to become ‘a starter in no time’ at Barca
Racing president Víctor Blanco has offered his thoughts
Lautaro Martinez will become “a starter in no time” if he joins Barcelona from Inter Milan this summer, according to Racing president Victor Blanco.
The striker joined the Nerazzurri from Racing in 2018 and is being rumored to be on the move again when the transfer window reopens.
Blanco reckons he’d be a hit if he did make the move to the Camp Nou and would be able to take over from Luis Suarez in the starting XI.
”I think if he goes, he will be a starter in no time. He’s a born winner. We have to consider he’s 22 as well. In comparison with Suarez, who’s a crack, he has that advantage,” he said.
“In football, the youngsters eventually replace the more experienced players. Obviously it’s his decision, if he’s convinced that he has to take that step, only he knows.
“He’s not a kid acting on impulse, if he’s convinced, I am sure that he will be OK. If he feels he’s still not ready, he will stay at Inter.”

The Racing president also spoke about Messi wanting to play with Martinez, adding that the Barca captain has already seen Lautaro is “a natural goal scorer, an animal in the box” while playing for Argentina.
