Barca not ruling out replacing Junior with Cucurella - report
It’s complicated, but it could happen apparently
Barcelona are reportedly not ruling out re-signing Marc Cucurella from Getafe if Junior Firpo does leave the Camp Nou this summer.
The left-back is being linked with a move away after just one season having struggled to shine for the Catalan giants since joining from Real Betis.
According to Cope, Junior could be used in the deal to bring Lautaro Martinez to Barcelona which would leave the club short of options at left-back.
Barca could decide to bring Cucurella back but are likely to face competition for his signature. Serie A sides Roma and Napoli have both been in touch as have Bayer Leverkusen.
Cucurella joined Getafe in July on loan with an option to buy of €6m, but there have been reports Getafe have already activated the clause.
This is not the first time the 21-year-old has been linked with a Camp Nou return after a fine spell with Getafe, although he has been critical of Barca’s treatment of youth players on occasions this season.
