The striker’s been heavily linked with a Camp Nou move

Inter Milan’s former president Massimo Moratti has warned the Nerazzurri they won’t be able to hold on to Lautaro Martinez if he does want to join Barcelona.

Speculation continues over a Barcelona move for the Argentina international, and while reports vary most seem to think Martinez is keen to head to the Camp Nou.

Moratti has said Inter will not be able to keep their striker if he does decide his future lies elsewhere.

“You can’t hold someone who has the idea of being somewhere else,” he said.

“That would put him in a position to remain involuntarily or, in any case with a different impulse, in the same place.”

Barcelona have been told by Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio they must pay Martinez’s €111m release clause if they are to land him this summer.

However, subsequent reports have suggested Barca will wait until his release clause has expired in July before making a move.
