Supporters offer their thoughts

Barcelona fans have provided some interesting results to a series of questions in a big poll run by Mundo Deportivo.

The Catalan daily has asked supporters about a range of topics including the club’s transfer targets as well as their views of players such as Ousmane Dembele and Lionel Messi.

The poll revealed that 89% of fans felt it was necessary to sign a defender in January, while over 71% would sign Georginio Wijnaldum from Liverpool for free.

A whopping 90% of respondents want Barcelona to sign a new No. 9 in January, but Memphis Depay certainly does not appear to be a popular choice.

Only 32.9% of fans thought the Netherlands international would be a good option despite the speculation suggesting he’s Barca’s top target this winter.

The futures of Dembele and Messi also featured in the poll. Over 70% of fans want Messi renewed, while 77% would not sell Dembele in the January transfer window.

Barcelona fans were also asked about the club’s hopes of winning silverware this season but don’t appear too optimistic the team will taste success.

Just 41% of fans think Barca will win La Liga in 2020-21, and only 26% think the Catalan giants are contenders for the Champions League.
