The Dutchman thinks his team can challenge this season

Memphis Depay says Barcelona must learn from their disappointing Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich but is confident his team can challenge for trophies this season.

The Bundesliga champions looked a cut above Barca at the Camp Nou on Tuesday but Memphis thinks his teammates can turn things around.

“The result against Bayern was obviously disappointing,” he said.

“We have to learn from the defeat and all row in the same direction to turn things around.

“I firmly believe that we’ll find a way to fight for all of the titles this season. We’re Barcelona and I want to help the club to turn things around.”

Barcelona will try to bounce back from the defeat on Monday against Granada and will once again look to Memphis to provide inspiration in attack.

The Netherlands international is happy with the start he’s made to life at the Camp Nou but insists he can get even better.

“I’ve started well,” he added. “But I have to keep going. I don’t think I’ve hit my best.

“I feel good, in shape. I want to keep improving. I want to keep scoring and assisting.”

Coach Ronald Koeman is expected to make changes to his team on Monday, particularly with Jordi Alba and Pedri out, but Memphis looks guaranteed a place in the starting XI.
