Sergino Dest sends message after picking up ‘small injury’
An update from the right-back
Barcelona full-back Sergino Dest has sent a message to supporters after picking up an injury on international duty with the USMNT.
Dest had to be replaced in the first half of Sunday’s 1-1 World Cup qualifying draw with Canada. Coach Gregg Berhalter confirmed after the match it was an ankle sprain.
Reports have claimed Dest will not play for the USMNT against Honduras but he is not expected to be out for too long.
The former Ajax man certainly seems keen to return as soon as possible after posting an update on social media.
Disappointed to pick up a small injury against Canada on Sunday. Looking forward to getting back out on the pitch ASAP. Thanks for your messages pic.twitter.com/Df3wmZRdQT

Dest does have a little extra time to recover now Barcelona’s La Liga clash against Sevilla, which was scheduled for Saturday, has been postponed. The right-back will now be aiming to return to full fitness in time for the visit of Bayern Munich in September 14th.
There are already a few rumors floating about regarding how Ronald Koeman could line up his team against the Bavarian giants. It’s been reported that the Dutchman could switch back to a 3-5-2 formation that was used quite regularly in the second half of last season.
