Following the 1-1 draw away to Rayo Vallecano, Xavi Hernández spoke to the media, saying "we have to be self-critical and make a lot of improvements, because if we want to win the league these are the kind of games you have to win. The team regrouped in the second half, and showed that we still have plenty of time to turn this situation around."

Frenkie de Jong back after 63 days - FC Barcelona
Frenkie de Jong is back. After a two-month absence through injury, the Netherlands international played all 90 minutes of Saturday's 1-1 draw with Rayo. It was his first outing since he was injured against Celta on September 23, meaning he has sat out seven Liga games plus a further three in Europe.

We are with you, Gavi - FC Barcelona
The message is "we are with you, Gavi", written clearly on the t-shirts worn by the FC Barcelona players ahead of kick off on Saturday against Rayo Vallecano in the Estadio de Vallecas. The words were ones of support for their injured team mate as they came out on to the field after Gavi was diagnosed with a serious knee injury earlier in the week.

Barcelona are ready to push ahead with their January plan to bring in Vitor Roque. Xavi was asked about his options in the January transfer market following a season ending injury to Spanish international Gavi. La Blaugrana currently have a deal in place to sign Roque next summer, as per their agreement with Athletico Paranaense, but that could now be brought forward.
