‘Too early’ to talk about keeping Cancelo & Felix - Deco
He’s changed his tune...
Barcelona sporting director Deco has been asked once again about the futures of Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix and says it’s too early to talk about keeping them on.
The duo have arrived on loan and it’s thought Barca want try to sign them permanently but may find it difficult due to their financial restraints.
Deco has said previously that Barca “were already thinking” about keeping the duo but doesn’t seem quite so sure now.
“We are very happy with the performance of both of them. They bring a lot of quality to the squad. Now it is too early to talk about their situations and we will have time to make decisions,” he told A Bola.
“Now is the time when the players must be focused on the club’s objectives and try to win as much as possible in all competitions.”
Both players have enjoyed regular game time for Barca this season but perhaps aren’t having quite the impact expected. Felix certainly is struggling for end-product and has now gone 12 games without a goal for Baca.
