Barca keeping tabs on former defender Oscar Mingueza
The club hold a buy-back clause on the Spain star
Barcelona are said to be keeping tabs on Oscar Mingueza with a view to potentially bringing the defender back to the club.
Mingueza left Barcelona for Celta in 2022, signing a four-year deal, and has gone on to become a regular for the team.
He’s enjoyed a great start to the season, bagging two goals and two assists, which has also led to a call-up to the Spain team for fixtures against Serbia and Switzerland.
Mundo Deportivo are reporting that Barca are monitoring Mingueza as a possible option, not least because of his versatility.
Mingueza can play at full-back or center-back and is seen as a potentially useful addition to the squad in the future.
There’s also the fact that Barcelona have a buyback option on Mingueza and can re-sign him for a fee of €9 million.
Barcelona are also entitled to half the fee of any future sale, meaning even if he does not re-join the Catalans, they still stand to profit from any future move.
