The adjustment has been made

Barcelona have announced an “adjustment” to Marc Bernal’s contract after making a few key tweaks to his deal with the Catalans.

Bernal is contracted to the club until 2026 but there is an option for that to extend for another three years and take him up to 2029.

Barcelona have also vastly increased his buyout clause which is now set at an eye-popping 500 million euros.

Here’s the club’s official statement:

“FC Barcelona and Marc Bernal have reached an agreement on an adjustment of the player’s contract, which binds him to the club until 30 June 2026, when his status as an U19 player ends, with the option to three more years. The buyout clause has been set at 500 million euros.”

Bernal broke into the first team this season but then unfortunately suffered an ACL injury that has seen him ruled out for 12 months. Yet he’s still clearly in Barca’s plans for the future and will be warmly welcomed back next year.
