Fermin’s ban confirmed after red card for Barca against Sevilla

He will sit out the clash with Rayo
Fermin Lopez has been handed a one-match ban for his red card against Sevilla last time out for Barcelona.
The midfielder arrived at half-time as a substitute and put Barcelona ahead with his first touch of the ball.
However, he was sent off shortly afterwards for a reckless challenge that was deemed “dangerous” by the VAR.
“Yes, with both legs in a scissors position. He comes in very hard, losing control of his body. That’s dangerous, perfect. I’m going to change the yellow number 16 for a red. Let’s go,” match referee Hernandez Hernandez said after been sent to check the foul on screen by the VAR team.
The RFEF have now confirmed that Fermin will serve a one-match suspension which means he will miss Barcelona’s next game against Rayo Vallecano on Monday.
It’s a blow for Fermin as he’s been in good form recently but he will be hoping he can get minutes in Barca’s next game which is away at Las Palmas.
