VAR audio of decision to award Barca penalty vs Rayo released

Here’s what the officials made of it all....
Barcelona beat Rayo Vallecano 1-0 on Monday thanks to a penalty from Robert Lewandowski after a foul on Inigo Martinez.
Predictably, there was plenty of debate at the time about whether it was the correct decision as the incident was missed initially but given after a VAR check.
The discussion between the match officials has now been released which explains why Barcelona were awarded a penalty.
“Mario, I recommend an OFR [on-field review] so that you can evaluate a possible penalty,” said VAR referee Díaz de Mera.
“Perfect, I’ll see it. Show me the image so I can see the grab. It was Pathé Ciss, wasn’t it?” replied match referee Mario Melero López.
“Yes,” was the response from VAR.
“Ok, he’s ignoring the ball. He’s clearly ignoring it. The ball is not in the area but it’s clear. With his left hand he’s holding him by the stomach. He’s not looking at the ball and he’s completely forgetting about the ball. I’m going to signal a penalty and a yellow card,” was the verdict from the ref.
“Perfect Mario.”
Barcelona were then awarded a penalty which Lewandowski slotted home for his 20th La Liga goal of the season.
