Barcelona add Espanyol’s El Hilali to list of right-back targets
The defender has impressed this season
Barcelona have reportedly added Espanyol right-back Omar El Hilali to their list of targets ahead of the summer transfer window.
Hansi Flick is believed to be eager to strengthen his full-back positions at the end of the summer to help out Jules Kounde and Alejandro Balde.
According to Diario Sport, El Hilali is the latest right-back to catch the club’s eye after an impressive campaign with Barca’s local rivals.
The report claims that Deco wants to sign a young player that Barca can develop and El Hilali fits the bill nicely.
Yet there’s also a suggestion that the club will find it difficult to bring in the youngster this summer as Machester United and Arsenal are also keen.
El Hilali has a release clause set at €30 million but it’s believed to drop to just €15m if Espanyol are relegated from the Spanish top flight.
Espanyol are currently in 15th place in the table but just three points off the bottom three.
