Flick offers positive Gavi update after midfielder missed Atlético clash

The Warrior had an injury scare in midweek
Barcelona had quite the injury scare after their Copa del Rey win over Atlético Madrid when it was revealed that Gavi didn’t play a single minute against the Colchoneros due to pain on his surgically repaired right knee.
That obviously created a ton of concern among Barça’s fanbase, but Hansi Flick gave some good news when asked about Gavi in a press conference on Friday. According to the coach, The Warrior only experienced “some discomfort” on Wednesday and will be available for selection in Saturday’s La Liga match against Real Betis.
“We decided to rest him against Atlético because he was experiencing some discomfort. He’s fine now. I’ve spoken with the doctors and the recovery team, and he’s fit to play tomorrow.”
Gavi’s availability is a big boost for Barça given the injuries to Marc Casadó and Dani Olmo in midfield, but the most important news is that there’s nothing serious with Gavi’s knee. We can now all breathe a sigh of relief as fans.
