Flick rules Olmo out for Leganés and offers Fati hope of more minutes

The coach gave an update on his midfielder and spoke about the young forward
Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick spoke to the press on Friday ahead of Saturday’s La Liga clash against Leganés and updated the situation of Dani Olmo while also speaking on the possibility of Ansu Fati getting more minutes from now on.
Olmo return to training on Thursday after missing the last couple of weeks with an adductor problem, but reports said that the Catalans will be cautious with the midfielder due to the multiple injuries he’s suffered this season and won’t rush him back even if means he’ll miss the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final away to Borussia Dortmund.
Flick pretty much confirmed those reports when asked about Dani, saying he’ll stay home and won’t make the trip to Madrid for the match against Leganés.
“He won’t play tomorrow, and it’s better for him to stay here at home after training these last two days. He won’t play or travel.”
As for Ansu Fati, who played for the first time in three months in the final minutes of the midweek win over Dortmund, Flick didn’t guarantee any minutes for the young forward but said he’s doing much better in training, which could open the door for more playing time.
“We’ll have to see. We’ll see. I can’t say if Ansu can start or if he’ll get minutes. I can only say that he’s training at a high level right now. That’s what we expect from him.”
Ansu will be hoping to play for a second straight game against Leganés, a match in which Flick could rotate his squad and offer a chance to players like Fati who haven’t played many minutes so far.
