Pedro set to join Chelsea; already in London for medicals
Pedro is finally going to move away from Barcelona. But it's not exactly where everyone thought he would.
According to widespread reports from Spain and England, the Barça winger has decided to join Premier League champions Chelsea, after Manchester United gave up on the long negotiations between the clubs. Sources told Barça Blaugranes that the Blues accepted to match the €30 million asking fee from the Catalan giants, who have given permission to the player to travel to London and go through medical testing with his new club.
In addition to that, Chelsea reportedly made a better contract offer than United, which made the decision easier for the Spanish international. As of right now, Pedro will probably serve as backup to starting widemen Willian and Eden Hazard, but José Mourinho is interested in an option other than Juan Cuadrado, who failed to impress since joining the London side.
Pedro is set to sign a four-year contract, and the official announcement of his transfer is expected to be made until Friday.
