Borussia Dortmund in for Paco Alcácer - Report
Alavés have pulled out and Betis are yet to make an offer
Barcelona forward Paco Alcácer, who has yet to feature this season, is strongly linked with an exit before the transfer window closes. And he could be moving to Germany, according to Mundo Deportivo.
MD does not name the German team that is after him, but L’Equipe says Borussia Dortmund are in for him. They consider him a priority signing after studying several options in the transfer market. Manager Lucien Favre is said to be a fan of his.
Apparently, Deportivo Alavés (whom Barcelona just beat 3-0 in their first La Liga match of the season) were in for Alcácer but were eventually turned off by his high asking price. Munir El-Haddadi had spent last season on loan there, but Alavés couldn’t afford to keep him despite his good spell as a loanee. MD says they consider meeting Alcácer’s price an impossibility as well, despite the fact that they are looking for a striker.
Real Betis are another rumored destination for Paco, but an offer has yet to reach Barça’s office. Again, the MD report does not name the German club that is after him but it does say that Barcelona are aware of the interest and the player’s entourage admits they are also aware of it, but insist nothing is as of yet concrete. The player, who has a contract until 2021, is said to be looking for a team which will give him more playing time. Munir is ahead of him in the pecking order, and the report says Paco is keenly aware of that. And not even Munir made the bench in the win against Alavés, so what chance does Paco have of seeing the pitch much this season?
