Valverde says Messi ‘is fine’ after Clasico injury fears
The Barcelona captain looked to have picked up a problem
Ernesto Valverde played down fears Lionel Messi picked up an injury during Saturday’s Clasico win over Real Madrid.
Messi got an arm in the face from Sergio Ramos, which left him bleeding according to Gerard Pique, and also appeared to have tweaked his groin in the second half.
Valverde was asked about his skipper after the game but said all is well.
“Messi is fine,” said the Barca boss. “He has had a great game and made a great effort.
”He is an extraterrestrial in a way, because every time he takes the ball something extraordinary happens.”

The players have been given two very well-deserved days off after Saturday’s win and also have a bit of respite now as their next game is not until Saturday.
Rayo Vallecano are the next visitors to the Cmap Nou and the game looks a good chance for Valverde to rest players ahead of the second leg of their Champions League tie against Lyon.
