Messi becomes involved in Neymar saga

The captain is acting to get his friend to come to Camp Nou

Lionel Messi has reportedly been thrown into the Neymar mix by his own wish. The former teammates were of course part of a dynamic trio along with Luis Suárez, and the Barcelona captain has always spoken positively about Neymar publicly.

Since news has broken about Neymar and Real Madrid snuggling up, Messi apparently didn’t take kindly to that and made it clear to Neymar he shouldn’t go to Madrid. Instead, Messi reportedly urged Neymar to leave Paris Saint-Germain and push for a return to Barcelona.

Messi’s push for a Neymar combeack would set up one of the most prolific attacks in football history. They would top the MSN of a couple years ago by simply adding Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembélé to that equation. Could Messi’s involvement prove decisive on making Neymar snub Madrid and force his way out of Paris and back to Camp Nou? The next few days should be fascinating.
