Messi told Tite to shut up during Argentina’s win over Brazil
The pair clashed during the friendly
Brazil boss Tite says Lionel Messi told him to shut up during his side’s friendly defeat to Argentina on Friday.
Messi scored the only goal of the game in Saudi Arabia after returning from a three-month international ban picked up during the Copa America.
The Barcelona captain saw a penalty saved by goalkeeper Alisson but managed to tap home the rebound for the only goal of the game.
Messi also clashed with Tite during the match, and the Brazil boss spoke about the pair’s exchange after the defeat.
“I complained because he [Messi] should have been shown a yellow card and he told me to shut my mouth and I told him to shut his mouth. And that was it.
“I don’t want to answer anymore on it. You need a strong referee because he’ll swallow you… It should have been a card, I was right to complain.”

Argentina’s win continues their good run and puts more scrutiny on Brazil. Tite’s side have now gone five games without a win since lifting the Copa America in July.
