Barcelona considering selling Emerson - report

The defender is wanted by Premier League clubs

With Nelson Semedo being considered to leave this summer, Barcelona are eyeing replacements for his position. One of the considerations was an in-house pick. Current loanee Emerson was initially thought of as a replacement according to Sport.

Barcelona’s coaching staff apparently doesn’t think he’s ready to come back and play at the club. The reported thought process is to leave him at Betis or sell him.

There are a few clubs in England that are apparently interested in him. West Ham, Newcastle, Everton and Tottenham have all been interested for a reported 20 plus million euros. If Barcelona did decide to sell him, they would need to pay another six million to bring the loan to a halt prematurely.
