He won’t be loaned, according to a new report

FC Barcelona will not loan Ansu Fati, and would use him in the B team if necessary to give him minutes, according to a new report. The youngster has shocked the football world with his amazing ability and maturity, but with some new forward signings rumored to be on the horizon, his playing time could drop.

The return of Luis Suárez and Ousmane Dembélé from injury, plus the signing of Martin Braithwaite, already would put Fati’s minutes in doubt. Then, there’s the possibility of a new forward signing such as Lautaro Martínez or Neymar.

Still, the Catalans don’t want to let Fati go on loan, and are prepared to play him with the B team at times if he is struggling for minutes. Fati has yet to feature for the B team, going straight from the Juvenil A section to the first team. Since his debut, Fati has not played with the B team or Juvenil A. Part of the reason, it seems, was to avoid an injury - even if he wasn’t being used in the senior team. Barcelona was low on options and had to keep some players in reserve, with Fati the only fit forward after Lionel Messi and Antonie Griezmann.

With an abundance of forwards, Barcelona would let Fati train and progress with the senior team - hoping to get lessons from the likes of Messi - and then, if necessary, let him play B team games.
