A look at the front pages in Spain

Sunday’s front pages bring some interesting news regarding Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt and Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Mundo Deportivo have the Dutchman on their front page with the headline ‘De Ligt, Alert’ and a report that he is aware Barcelona and Juventus have been chatting about players.

De Ligt turned Barca down last summer but thinks he may have more of a chance of becoming an automatic starter if the club renewed their interest this year.

The 20-year-old is said to be happy in Turin but is not ruling out an exit, while Juve remain keen on Arthur and could be willing to include the defender in a potential swap deal.

Over at Sport the headline is ‘Ter Stegen on the edge’ and an update on the future of the Barcelona goalkeeper.

The Catalan daily reckons Barca have called off contract renewal talks due to the coronavirus crisis and because they can’t find agreement with the Germany international.

Manchester City, Juventus and Bayern are all said to be willing to try and tempt Ter Stegen away if he can’t agree a new deal, while the Catalans could replace him with Ajax stopper Andre Onana.
